Rules and Instructions – University/College Bachelor’s Degree Scholarship

1. The recipient shall be a graduating high school senior in the application school year (August-May). There will be no discrimination based on age, gender, race, national origin, religion, marital status or disability.

2. The recipient shall be a student enrolled in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited college, university or vocational/technical school in the state of Iowa.

3. The recipient shall be a U.S. citizen living in a home currently served by Corridor Energy Cooperative (i.e., if a minor, his/her parents/guardians must be members.)

4. Individuals not eligible for scholarships are family members of directors and/or employees of Corridor Energy Cooperative. Family is defined for this purpose as ancestors, spouse, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and spouses of children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren.

5. All applications shall be completed in full and filed with the Corridor Energy Cooperative scholarship committee after applicants have completed three and one-half years, or the equivalent in hourly credits, of high school. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

6. The applicant shall furnish a transcript showing three and one-half years of high school grades, or the equivalent in hourly credits. All transcripts shall be retained by the scholarship committee whether or not the applicant is granted a scholarship. All information supplied by the applicants will be considered confidential.

7. A personal letter and cooperative statement MUST accompany the application form. These are worth 35% of your scoring grade and set you apart from other applicants. Please limit the personal letter and statement to one typed page. Your personal letter should include:

• Educational goals
• Work and personal experiences (especially if they pertain to your major or interest)
• Cooperative statement paragraph: How cooperatives are different from other types of utilities
• Answer: How electric utilities are evolving to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world?

8. Applications are due March 3, 2025. Scholarship recipients will be notified by mail and announced on our website April 1, 2025.

9. Scholarship checks will be made jointly payable to the student and to the financial office of the educational institution, to be endorsed by both parties. Checks must be used for educational costs.

10. Scholarships will be paid in two equal installments (August and January). Eligibility for the second installment must be confirmed before the second installment is paid (i.e., students must provide enrollment documentation, 2.5 GPA confirmed).

11. Scholarship awards are non-transferable. If you choose to pursue a degree other than what you applied for (bachelor or associate), your award will be forfeited.

Rules and Instructions – Allen Feickert Memorial Scholarship – Powerline Program

1. The recipient shall be a graduating high school senior in the application school year (August-May). There will be no discrimination based on age, gender, race, national origin, religion, marital status or disability.

2. The recipient shall be a student enrolled in the Powerline diploma program at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, Iowa.

3. The recipient shall be a U.S. citizen living in Iowa.

4. All applications shall be completed in full and filed with the Corridor Energy Cooperative Scholarship Committee after applicants have completed three and one-half years, or the equivalent in hourly credits, of high school. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
